The
IgA Nephropathy Support Group is primarily a semi-moderated email
support group which the Foundation for IgA Nephropathy operates on
Yahoo Groups. It has been in existence since October 2000. This is a
very active group, in a friendly, informative and positive environment,
with emphasis on conventional medical treatment, as per the terms of reference which you will receive upon subscription.
Subscribers
may choose to read messages on the web only, or they may receive them
as email. You will require a Yahoo ID (which you can obtain by following
the instructions on the Yahoo Group's home page when you subscribe).
Full access allows you to search the message archives, read past
messages, change your settings from web only to email (and back), etc.
The
email group averages about 600 to 1000 messages per month, and not all
of them will be of interest to you. If you do not want to receive these
messages as email in your inbox, you can set your subscription to web
only. In this case, you can read the messages on the webpage for the
Yahoo Group at your leisure, but you don't receive them as email. Your
subscription to the email group signifies your agreement to abide by
the Terms of Reference which you will be sent automatically upon
subscription.
Please
note that membership to our Yahoo-based support group is moderated so
as to be able to prevent abuse and spamming. Your email address is not
communicated to anyone by the administration, nor collected or used by
us for any purpose. However, if you do use the email group, the email
address you use for it will be visible to other members who receive the
messages (that's the nature of email groups).
